Shannon Woodcock

I'm a queer white historian specialising in racist discourse and violence, and the ways that communities resist.  I have done Koori community directed research on Gunai Kurnai Country and other nearby countries since 2017. I primarily and consistently work with a methodology of collaborative oral history and community directed archival research. I am a specialist in the fields of Romani Romanian resistance against Romanian racism and genocide,  post-socialist discourses of sexuality as identity in Eastern Europe, and the history of everyday life in Albania under Enver Hoxha (1945-1985). I speak the languages I work in.
